The Battle Continues
Yale women's hockey player Mandi Schwartz, her parents Carol and Rick, and her fiancée Kaylem Prefontaine have been in Seattle since last week in preparation for a cord blood transplant on August 26 to treat her leukemia. The procedure will take place at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, which partners with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Ivies Invest in Urban Education
For four Ivy League athletes, the recovery begins. That's because Trey Peacock, Adrian Colarusso, Jessie Rhee and Brittney Smith spent several days designing and preparing leadership curriculum for at-risk high school students from Indianapolis, followed by two intensive and exhausting weeks of implementing the program while also serving in mentorship and advisory roles for the students.
