Four Ivy Football Games To Appear On YES

[New York, NY] September 9, 2002--Leo Hindery, Jr., Chairman and CEO of the YES Network (Yankees Entertainment & Sports LLC), and Jeffrey Orleans, Executive Director of the Ivy League, announced today that YES will produce and broadcast four Ivy League Football games, live on Saturday afternoons this fall. The Ivy League schools, each of which will appear once, include Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Pennsylvania, Princeton and Yale.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of Ivy League Football for YES viewers and for Ivy League fans and alumni,” said Mr. Hindery. “It is an honor to be associated with these top-notch institutions as well as continue our commitment to add quality programming to our Network,” added Mr. Hindery.

The first Ivy League game to air on YES will be Cornell at Harvard, October 12 (1:00), followed by Columbia at Penn on October 19 (1:00), Yale at Brown on November 9 (12:30), and rounding out the Ivy League schedule, Dartmouth at Princeton on November 23 (1:00).

“We are excited to partner with the YES Network as it expands its coverage to include Ivy League Football,” said Orleans. “YES has built a loyal audience in a short period of time, and we believe that the quality of Ivy football will be attractive throughout the YES region, as well as nationally on DIRECTV.”

The play-by-play and color commentators will be announced at a later date.

The YES Network is a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week premier sports and entertainment television network featuring the 26-time World Champion New York Yankees Major League Baseball team and this fall (subject to NBA approval) the Eastern Conference Champion New Jersey Nets. The YES Network is available to viewers in New York, Connecticut, and large parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In addition to 130 Yankees games and an anticipated 75 Nets games, YES broadcasts other professional and collegiate sports teams as well as classic sports footage. The YES schedule also includes original biography, interview and magazine programs (www.yesnetwork.com).

DirecTV subscribers can see these games by ordering the Sports Pack, which includes YES Network programming.

The Ivy League football season will kickoff on Sept. 21 with a full slate of non-conference action. For a complete composite schedule for the 2002 Ivy football season, please click here.
