IVY PLAYER OF THE
WEEK
Hana Peljto, Harvard,
Junior, Forward, Brooklyn Park,
Minn.
The reigning Ivy League
Player of the Year helped the Crimson to a 1-1 week, earning
a 79-70 win over Northeastern before falling to No. 12
Minnesota. She posted her third double-double of the season
with 24 points and 11 rebounds against the Huskies, then had
23 points, nine rebounds and three steals in the loss to the
Golden Gophers. For the season, she is leading the team in
scoring (22.7 ppg) and rebounding (10.0 rpg), both good for
second in the League.
IVY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jean Cullen, Dartmouth, Guard, Janesville,
Wis.
Cullen was fantastic,
pumping in a career-high 33 points on 10-for-14 shooting,
including going seven-for-11 from behind the arc in a 86-72
win over Hartford. Cullen, who had a previous high of 21
points, was six-for-six from the line and added seven
rebounds to her totals. Her seven three-pointers fell one
shy of the school record held by Courtney Banghart, set on
March 7, 2000 against
Harvard.
IVY HONOR ROLL
Tanara Golston, Brown, Junior, Guard, Skokie, Ill.
Golston was named to the
Brown Classic All-Tournament team after netting 18 points in
a 71-50 win over Lafayette, and 13 points in the
Championship game. Earlier in the week Golston contributed
six points, six boards and three assists in a 69-62 overtime
loss to in-state rival
URI.
Edytte Key, Columbia, Soph., Forward, Snoqualmie,
Wash.
Key blocked a shot with
less then a minute to play in regulation gave the Lions a
62-61 win over Lehigh. She also had 13 points to go with her
7 rebounds, two blocks, an assist and steal. Against Army,
the center had a season-high tying 14 points and a team best
seven boards.
Lynell Davis, Cornell, Senior, Forward, Palatine, Ill.
Davis was named to the
All-Tournament team after scoring 31 points over the weekend
and shot .519 from the floor to help the Big Red finish
second in the Cornell Classic. She scored a game-high 19
points in the championship game against Colgate and added a
team-high nine rebounds.
Katharine Hanks, Dartmouth, Senior, Forward, Bloomfield,
Mich.
Hanks had another
outstanding performance in the 86-72 win over Hartford. She
totaled 23 points on nine-for-15 shooting and added 13
rebounds, to notch her League-leading fourth
double-double.
Karen Habrukowich, Penn, Sophomore, Guard, Newtown,
Pa.
Habrukowich averaged
just under 11 points per game in the Quakers three contests,
including two double figure efforts. She tallied 14 points
against Cal and 12 against Evansville in the Red and Blue's
two games at the Oakland Tribune Classic. Against the Purple
Aces she knocked down a season-high four three
pointers.
Allison Cahill, Princeton, Senior, Guard, Uxbridge,
Mass.
Cahill scored 28 points
in Princeton's 97-69 win over Centenary. She finished
10-of-14 from the field, 3-of-4 from three-point range and
5-of-5 from the free throw line. Cahill chipped in with six
points against Sacred Heart, making both of her free throws
to stay perfect on the week.
Lindsay Page, Yale, Sophomore, Forward, Mulkiteo,
Wash.
Page led the team in
scoring in both of the games at the Roger L. White
Tournament. She averaged 10.5 points and 7.0 rebounds a game
during the tournament, and for the season, she is second on
the team in scoring (10.7 ppg) and first in rebounding (6.4
rpg).

Brown hosted the 11th Annual Bank Rhode Island Brown Classic and
finished the tournament in second place after defeating Lafayette to
advance to the Championship game ... The Bears faced the University
of Vermont in the championship game, but fell to capture runner-up
honors ... The Bears also sent the URI game into overtime after
sophomore Holly Robertson (Calgary, ALB) scored with a little
over three seconds left on the clock in regulation ... Brown was
eventually defeated in overtime 69-62.
With the win against LIU, the Lions remained undefeated against the
Blackbirds, with a 5-0 all-time record
Earlier this season,
the Lions dealt Hofstra's pride another blow, defeating the Long
Island team for the second year in a row
The squad's 15-point
win over Colgate was CU's largest margin of victory in 34 all-time
meetings vs. Patriot League foes
It was the team's second
consecutive win over the Raiders
The win over Lehigh was just
the Lions' second in nine attempts
Both victories have come
under head coach Jay Butler
Three sophomores are leading the
team in scoring with Susan Kern (New Rochelle, N.Y.) averaging
12.0 ppg
She had a career-high 18 against Colgate
Edytte Key (Snoqualmie, Wash.) is tied with Kern for the team
lead at 12.0 ppg
She is tops on the squad with 9.4 rebounds
per game
The center tied a career-high with 13 boards against
Hofstra
Nicole Lesko (Jasper, Ind.) rounds out the top
three with 9.0 ppg
She is almost perfect from the foul line
shooting a sizzling 96%, making 21 of 22 attempts
With her
seven rebounds last week, senior tri-captain Katie Day
(McLean, Va.) has moved into ninth place on the Columbia career list
for the category with 377.
The Big Red split its two games at the Cornell Classic, earning a
57-41 win over Albany before falling to Colgate in the championship
by a score of 76-64 ... Tri-captains Lynell Davis (Palatine,
Ill.) and Karen Force (Columbus, Ind.) were named to the
all-tournament team ... Davis scored a game-high 19 points against
the Raiders and Force led the team in assists both nights and scored
13 points in each contest ... Junior Dani Aretino (Gallup,
N.M.) grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds in the win over Albany ...
Lauren Kilduff (Flushing, N.Y.) came through with her best
performance of the seasonagainst the Great Danes, scoring five points
while adding five rebounds and four assists ... After missing the
first five games recovering from a preseason injury, freshman
Sarah Brown (Coral Springs, Fla.) made her collegiate debut
against Albany ... The Big Red will return to action Saturday, when
it faces Lafayette for a home contest beginning at 1 p.m.
Dartmouth set a school record with 12 3-pointers against Hartford,
breaking the old record of 11 set against Massachusetts in 1996
Freshman Jean Cullen (Janesville, Wis.) was outstanding
in the win over the Hawks, nailing 10-of-14 from the floor and
seven-of-11 3-pointers
She was also a perfect six-of-six from
the charity stripe
Senior Katharine Hanks (Bloomfield
Hills, Mich.) has scored more than 20 points in each of the five
games this season
She is shooting .667 percent from the field
After a disappointing season at home last year, the Big Green
is a perfect 3-0 this year and are averaging 78.1 ppg at Leede
Arena
Dartmouth is shooting .472 percent from the field, .832
from the charity stripe and .417 from long distance
Freshman
Angela Soriaga (College Station, Texas) handed out a
League-high 12 assists in the win over Hartford.
Harvard is now 4-2 overall, following a 79-70 win over Northeastern
and 92-68 defeat against Minnesota
Harvard faced its second
top-20 program in just over a week when it welcomed No. 12 Minnesota
to Lavietes Pavilion
The Crimson suffered a loss to No. 8
Vanderbilt last Sunday, in Nashville, Tenn.
Hana Peljto
(Brooklyn Park, Minn.) posted her third double-double of the season
in Harvard's win over the Huskies, scoring 24 points and bringing
down 11 rebounds
Reka Cserny (Budapest, Hungary) also
scored 24 points and recorded 10 rebounds for her first double-double
of the season
Jessica Holsey (Potomac, Md.) dished out
a career-high four assists against Minnesota
The Crimson
hosts Central Connecticut on Wednesday in its third-straight home
game.
The Red and Blue will be off for two weeks before they head to the
Navy Invitational when they will take on Fresno State on Dec. 21 at
5:30 p.m. ... The consolation and championship rounds will be the
following day against either College of Charleston or Navy ...
Jewel Clark (Waldorf, Md.) recorded a season-high 13 rebounds
and 14 points for her second double-double of the season against
Villanova ... Cat Makarewich (New Fairfield, Conn.) had a
season-high 13 points in the loss to Evansville ... The Red and Blue
have made one three-point field goal in 24 straight contests ...
Clark was named to the Oakland Tribune Classic All-Tournament team
and was the Big 5 Player of the Week announced last Tuesday.
Princeton is now 3-4 on the year after going 1-1 last week
The
Tigers tied a team record for most points in a game on Wednesday when
they scored 97 points in a 97-69 win over Centenary
The last
time Princeton scored 97 points in a game was vs. Brown on Jan. 29,
1988
Three Tigers are averaging double-figures this season
with senior Maureen Lane (Seattle, Wash.) leading the way
(12.3 ppg)
Allison Cahill (Uxbridge, Mass.), the only
other senior on Princeton's roster, is second with a 11.4 average
Freshman Rebecca Brown (Bozeman, Mont.), who has
already registered a double-double this season, is third, averaging
10.4 ppg
The Tigers play their third straight home contest
this Wednesday when they host Hofstra at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs dropped a home game against Quinnipiac before falling in
both games of the Roger L. White Invitational, held at Northwestern
University
Five different Bulldogs led the team in scoring in
each of the team's first five games
Tory Mauseth
(Sammamish, Wash.) (15 points at Vermont), Lindsay Page
(Mulkiteo, Wash.) (23 vs. Navy), Bonnie Smith (Oakland, Maine)
(20 at Albany), Morgan Richards (Seattle, Wash.) (17 vs.
Lafayette) and Maria Smear (14 against Quinnipiac) have all
been the top scorer for Yale at some point this season
Yale
outrebounded Northwestern 53-37, including a season-high 27 on the
offensive glass
Junior Aubrey Smith (Vernon Hills,
Ill) had a solid game in the loss to Central Michigan (four points,
season-high nine rebounds)
This trip was the first chance
Smith and fellow junior Julie Cohen (Hillsdale, Ill.) had to
play in front of a hometown crowd while at Yale
Both are
Illinois natives ... The Bulldogs are on pace to break the school
records for both three pointers attempted and made in a season
Both marks were set last year
Tuesday, Yale travels to West
Point for a game with Army, their last game before a 20 day
end-of-semester break.
