Brown graduate Cory Gibbs '01 was recently added to the U.S. national team's January men's soccer roster. Gibbs, who played defense for the Bears from 1997-2000, will make his U.S. training camp debut when the team convenes Jan. 3 in Bradenton, Fla.

Gibbs currently plays for FC St. Pauli of German Bundesliga. He was previously invited to train with the U.S. during its trip to Germany last year but a hamstring injury prevented his partcipation.

Gibbs was the 2000 Ivy League Player of the Year after scoring five goals, tops on Brown among regular season scoring, while anchoring the team's defense, which led the Bears to a perfect 7-0-0 record in the Ivy League that year. Gibbs was also a First Team All-American in 2000 and a three-time First Team All-Ivy selection.
