Ivy Weekly Men's Soccer Awards 4 - 10/6

Yale Sophomore Matt Aleksinas (Greenville, S.C.) posted a pair of shutouts as the Bulldogs earned two key 1-0 victories. Against UConn, he made six saves, including five in the second half, as the Bulldogs upset the 17th-ranked Huskies. Against Harvard, he made four saves as the Bulldogs blanked the Crimson in the Ivy opener for both teams. It was his third straight shutout. Aleksinas has played all 630 minutes in goal for the Bulldogs and has a 1.00 goals against average.

Princeton freshman Kyle McHugh (Baldwin, Md.) scored two goals including an overtime gamewinner to help Princeton go undefeated against two nationally ranked teams this week. After the Tigers tied No. 17 Seton Hall on Wednesday, they opened their Ivy League season with a 3-2 win at Dartmouth on Sunday. McHugh scored his first collegiate goal with a right-footed shot into the lower right corner to tie the score at 2-2 at the end of regulation. He then rebounded a shot in overtime for the win.

Cornell junior Peter Lynch (Fort Washington, Pa.) headed home a corner kick from senior Ian Pilarski in the 11th minute to help the Big Red earn 1-0 win at Penn on Saturday in its Ivy opener. The goal was his first of the season and allowed Cornell to pick up its first league road win since 2000.

Harvard sophomore
Ryan Johnson (East Seatucket, N.Y.) made four saves in the Crimson's lone game of the week, a 1-0 loss to arch-rival Yale. So far this season, Johnson has played in five contests, allowing only six goals and has 19 saves and a goals against average of 1.18.

Brown senior
Adom Crew (Columbia, Md.) came through for the Bears once again, recording the game-winning goal 52 seconds into the second overtime period to give Brown a 1-0 victory over Columbia in its Ivy League opener.

Dartmouth junior
Oliver Harker-Smith (Yateley, England) scored his first collegiate goal on Sunday against Princeton. Smith scored the tying goal with 1:14 remaining in regulation.

Yale rookie
Alex Munns (Des Moines, Iowa) continues to score big goals for the Bulldogs. Against 17th-ranked UConn, he settled a feed from Andrew Dealy and drilled a shot into the left corner from 18 yards out. It came in the 14th minute and was the only goal of the game. Munns leads the Bulldogs in goals (3) and points (6).

Penn freshman
Charles Howard (Portland, Ore.) scored his first collegiate goal on Monday against La Salle. The goal tied the game at one, extending the Quakers undefeated streak to four. Howard was a key component to the Quaker defense that held its opponents to 18 shot this week, which included holding Cornell to a total of three shots.
