In total, 12 Ivy Leaguers (six men and six women) were selected to the District I and II Academic All-District Team by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

Four men were named to the first team in their respective districts. Princeton junior Darren Spicer (Diamond Bar, Calif.) was named to the District II first team. Spicer is leading the League in points, points per game, goals and goals per game. In the goals category, Spicer has nearly double the amount of scores as his nearest rival. The Tiger forward has hit the back of the net 12 times this season, while majoring in politics.

Spicer has Princeton in the middle of the race for The Ivy League Soccer Trophy, which is given as a memorial to former Dartmouth player Edwin Parkhurst. The Tigers are currently deadlocked in a four-way tie for second-place in the League. Princeton meets Ivy rival Penn at 4 pm on Saturday at Lourie-Love Field.

The League had four student athletes named to the District I menís soccer team. Columbia senior Dean Arnaoutakis (Dunedin, Fla.) was one of three named to the first team. The pre-med major was also selected as a first-team Academic All-America last season. Arnaoutakis is fourth in the League in saves.

Arnaoutakis was not the only Lion selected to the first team. Sophomore Greg Cass (Landsdale, Pa.) was one of just two non-seniors, and the only sophomore, selected to the first team. The chemical engineering major has played in all 15 of Columbiaís games this season and has started 14.

Yale senior Andrew Dealy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) returned to the Academic All-District team. In 2002 the political science major was selected as a second-teamer. This season, thanks to an 11-point effort (four goals, three assists) thus far, the senior was selected to the first team.

Penn keeper Daniel Cepero (Baldwin, N.Y.) was selected to the District II second team while Brown midfielder Marcos Romaneiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was named to the District I second team. Romaneiro leads the League in assists (7) while Cepero is tops in saves (66).

The six womens selections equal the number of men named to the team.

Penn senior Katy Cross (Claremont, Calif.) is a three-time selection to the Academic All-District team. Cross has received the selection in every year she was eligible. Last season she was selected as to the Academic All-America team. Cross currently sits in second in the League with 31 points (12 goals, seven assists). Cross, a psychology major, has led the Quakers to a 9-5-2 record.

When Cross lines up for Saturday's 7 pm game at Princeton, she wonít be the only All-District selection on the field. Tiger midfielder Maija Garnaas (Alexandria, Va.) was picked as a first-teamer as well. The molecular biology major has played in 15 of the 16 Princeton games this season. Garnaas has three points (one goal, one assist) on the season for the Ivy Champion Tigers.

Four womenís soccer players earned second team honors. Princeton defender Romy Trigg-Smith (Kailua, Hawaii) was picked as a District II team member. The architecture major has started all 16 of the Tigers games.

Also named to the second team was Dartmouth senior defender Claire DeWalt (Columbus, Ohio), Columbia senior defender Eva Gudbjornsdottir (Kopavoqur, Iceland), and Yale senior goalkeeper Sarah Walker (Alameda, Calif.) DeWalt, a government major, has played in all 16 of the Big Greenís match ups. Gudbjornsdottir has played in every one of the Lionsí games while also majoring in engineering.
