PLAYER
OF THE WEEK
Cornell senior attack Sean Greenhalgh (St. Catharines, Ont.) continued his assault on the Cornell record book, scoring five goals and adding two assists in a 16-6 win over Harvard to remain unbeaten in first place atop the Ivy League standings. Greenhalgh added a pair of ground balls in the victory and was credited with the game-winning goal. He scored two goals and assisted on a third in the decisive first half. He also had the play of the day, intercepting a pass at midfield, taking two steps and firing in a goal over the head of Harvard's goalkeeper who had come out to attempt a clear in the second half.
ROOKIE
OF THE WEEK
Yale freshman attack Tyler Casertano (Millbrook, N.Y.) had a career-best two goals in the Elis' 12-11 win at Brown. Casertano got the Bulldogs on the board at the 13:43 mark of the first with a goal off an assist from Chris Kemper. He then put the Elis up 7-3 with an unassisted tally at 7:03 in the second quarter.
THE HONOR ROLL
Dartmouth sophomore attackman Nick Bonacci (Crofton, Md.) scored twice and assisted on two more goals as the Big Green opened Ivy play with a 8-7 win over Penn on Saturday. Bonacci had three shots on goal and connected on two of them. He also picked up three ground balls.
Princeton senior attackman Jason Doneger (Hewlett, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime in the Tigers' win over Penn. Doneger also scored twice in Princeton's loss to Rutgers.
Cornell freshman midfielder John Glynn (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) was credited with a pair of assists in the first half of the Big Red's 16-6 win over Harvard. He assisted on an Ian Rosenberger score seven minutes into the game to put Cornell up 3-0, then was credited with a helper on Kevin Nee's second score of the day with 10:29 left in the half as Cornell upped the advantage to 5-1. He entered the game with just one assist in his career before seeing extensive time off the bench in the victory over the Crimson.
Princeton freshman goalie Alex Hewit (Chatham, N.J.) made nine saves, including three in overtime, while allowing just five goals in the Tigers' win over Penn. The freshman also made seven saves in last weekend's game against Rutgers.
Yale junior midfielder Dan Kallaugher (Glyndon, Md.) won 21-of-27 faceoffs and had a game-high 16 ground balls in the Bulldogs' 12-11 win at Brown last Saturday. Kallaugher was tied for second in Division I last week in ground balls per game with 7.29 per contest. He also ranked fifth in face-off win percentage at 0.664 (91-of-137).
Dartmouth senior midfielder Matt Nielsten (Glen Ridge, N.J.) went 10-for-10 in face-offs while picking up four ground balls in the Big Green's 8-7 win over Penn last weekend.
Penn junior James Riordan (Baldwin, N.Y.) was instrumental in trying to help Penn to victory in two games last week. Against Princeton, Riordan netted the game-tying goal in regulation to force overtime before the Tigers came away with a 6-5 double overtime victory. Later in the week, Riordan closed Penn's deficit to one goal against No. 12 Dartmouth at Franklin Field when he scored the team's fifth goal in an 8-7 loss, Penn's fifth one-goal loss of the season.
Brown senior attackman Chazz Woodson (Virginia Beach, Va.) came up big once again for the Bears, registering five points against Yale. Woodson netted three goals and two assists against the Elis, and has now registered a hat-trick in five of Brown's six games.
