Championship Bracket

From Brown Sports Information
The 40th-ranked Brown men's tennis team -- which completed an undefeated Ivy season last Thursday at Yale and gained the Ivy League's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament -- will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., for a 1 pm first-round match on Saturday against the No. 26 Ohio State Buckeyes.
The Bears, making their third appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the past four years, will be playing to advance to the round of 32 against either East Tennessee State or Tennessee.
Brown made its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2002, earning an automatic berth as the Ivy League Champion, and fell to the University of Mississippi, the seventh-ranked team in the country, 4-0. The following year, Brown received an at large bid into the tournament, and lost a 4-3 match to Wake Forest, the 28th-ranked team in the country.
The NCAA Division I Mens Tennis Subcommittee has also selected the 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams that will compete in the 2005 Championships and the Ivy League has two individuals and a pair of doubles teams. The individuals are Jonathan Chu of Harvard and Adil Shamasdin of Brown. They are also on the doubles teams as Chu will join with Ashwin Kumar and Shamasdin will team with Phil Charm.
The singles and doubles competition will be conducted at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas, on May 25-30, following the conclusion of the team championship.
