Princeton goaltender Roxanne Gaudiel ’06 (Venice, Fla.) was named the ECAC women’s Goaltender of the Week on Monday night, the second time Gaudiel has been honored by the ECAC this season.
Gaudiel went 2-0-1 in the net this past week. She made seven saves in a 2-1 victory over Quinnipiac on Tuesday and allowed just one goal on nine shots in a 5-2 win over Wayne State on Friday. Her best game came on Saturday, however. Gaudiel collected an astounding 26 saves, including three in overtime, as the Tigers played to a 2-2 draw with Wayne State.
Gaudiel had a .921 save percentage and a 1.09 goals-against average for the week and currently stands at .932 and 1.58 for the season.
Princeton was ranked sixth in the country -- best among Ivy League schools -- in the latest USA Today Hockey Poll.
In addition to Gaudiel, the following Ivy Leaguers were named to the Dec. 12 Weekly Honor Roll: Brown’s Ashlee Drover (Sr., D, Bay Roberts, Nfld.); Dartmouth’s Shannon Bowman (Fr., F, Leamington, Ont.) and Kate Lane (Sr., G, Wingham, Ont.); Harvard’s Liza Solley (Jr., F, Washington, Conn.); and Princeton’s Kim Pearce (Jr., F, Ottawa, Ont.), who was named Player of the Week last week.
Brown’s O’Hara Shipe ’08 (Anchorage, Alaska) has also been recognized by the ECAC as the Goaltender of the Week honors, on Oct. 31.
