Cornell alumnus Sean Greenhalgh '05 (St. Catharines, Ont.) had an impressive National Lacrosse League debut on Friday, Dec. 30, scoring a game-high seven points on four goals and three assists, as the Philadelphia Wings defeated the Colorado Mammoth, 13-11, in front of a crowd of 15,276 at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo.

The rookie forward scored three of his goals in the decisive fourth quarter.

"I thought we had a great overall team performance," said Wings General Manager and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "I was very impressed with both Wiles and Greenhalgh and how they both kept their composure in front of a big crowd here in Denver."

Greenhalgh, the 2005 Ivy League Men’s Player of the Year and the Wings first pick (3rd overall) in the 2005 Entry Draft, led the way in scoring with seven points in his first professional game. Wiles, the Wings second pick (4th overall) in the 2005 Entry Draft, followed with two goals.

"I was anxious and excited to get started tonight and I think it took me a little bit to settle down," said Greenhalgh. "I really started to find my rhythm in the second half and I think my teammates did too."

The Wings return to action on Friday, Jan. 6 against the Minnesota Swarm at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., at 8 p.m.

The NLL, now entering its 20th season, is North America's professional indoor lacrosse league. The league has eleven teams playing in the major markets of the United States and Canada. The teams play a 16-game regular season schedule that begins in December and runs through April, followed by the Champion's Cup Playoffs.
