CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Cornell junior guard LAUREN BENSON (Downers Grove, Ill.) ran the offense as the Big Red picked up a sweep of Brown and Yale. She led Cornell with a team-high 20 points, while handing out five assists and playing a full 40 minutes for the sixth time this season against Brown. Benson collected half of her career-high 20 points at the charity strip, going 10-of-14 on the evening, including seven in the final five minutes of play. Against Yale, Benson scored 15 points, 11 of which came during the crucial first half, as she finished the day going 4-for-6 from the floor, including an perfect 3-for-3 from 3-point range, while handing out a team-high four assists, grabbing three rebounds and coming up with two steals.
Harvard senior guard EMILY TAY (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the Crimson in two wins over Penn and Princeton. She scored a game-high 22 points, including a perfect 8-for-8 effort from the free throw line in the Crimsons win over Penn. She also handed out two assists and collected two steals. Against Princeton, Tay just missed a double-double, scoring 14 points and handing out nine assists. She also collected three steals in the win for the Crimson. Twelve of Tays points came in the second half, which included two free throws with 30 seconds left to seal the win.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Princeton freshman center DEVONA ALLGOOD (Huntersville, N.C.) started both games, her second and third starts of her career, in the Tigers losses to Dartmouth and Harvard. Against Dartmouth, she was one rebound shy of her second career double-double, as she scored 10 points and had nine rebounds. Allgood also contributed three blocks and two steals. The next night against Harvard, Allgood tallied a career-high 15 points and shot 7-for-12 from the field, both career bests. She also had a team-high eight rebounds and one steal. She finished the weekend with the best field-goal percentage on the team, at 61.1 percent.
