PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cornell sophomore setter Jordan Reeder (Zephyr Cove,
Nev.) had the best outing of her career, as she posted 34 assists to lead
the Big Red to a 3-0 victory over Columbia on Saturday. Reeder also registered
seven digs, two block assists, one service ace, and had two kills with
no errors on four attempts (.500).
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Yale freshman setter Kerry Clavadetscher (Seattle, Wash.)
ran the Bulldogs offense to a commanding straight-set victory over Brown
on Friday night. Clavadetscher, who played less than two full sets of
the sweep, distributed a match-high 21 assists against the Bears. She
also picked up three digs and two blocks (one solo). The rookie currently
sits second in the Ivy League in assists, averaging 9.67 per set.
THE HONOR ROLL
Brown freshman setter Alexandra
Ilistad (Alamo, Calif.) looked solid in her first extended collegiate
action, compiling 14 assists in three sets for the Bears, and helping
key the attack against Yale. Ilistad also added one kill and two digs
on the weekend.
Cornell freshman outside hitter Deveney Pula (Long Beach,
Calif.) led the Big Red offense in its 3-0 defeat of Columbia on Saturday.
She tallied a game-high 10 kills with just four errors on 27 attempts
(.222) to go along with eight digs and three block assists.
Dartmouth senior outside hitter Megan MacGregor (Carlsbad,
Calif.) continues to provide senior leadership, as she led the Big Green
to a season sweep of Harvard. MacGregor led both sides in kills with 16
as she had a hitting percentage of .517, recording just one error in the
three sets. She also provided one service ace and four blocks in the
effort. MacGregor currently leads the team with 17
service aces and is second in digs with 111 and kills with 119.
Harvard sophomore libero Christine Wu (Naperville, Ill.)
registered a match-high 19 digs against Dartmouth for an average of 6.33
per set. Wu, who has posted double-digit digs in 12-of-13 matches this
season, averages just over five digs per set. Her 19 digs in just three
sets is a season best for the Crimson.
In Penns only match of the weekend, junior outside hitter Julia
Swanson (Houston, Texas) was a force as she had a match-high
17 kills (5.67) while hitting .297. She also added five digs and two total
blocks as the Quakers swept Princeton in three sets, its first victory
over the Tigers in four years.
Penn freshman right sider Lauren Martin (Bedford, Texas)
had an impressive performance in the Quakers' 3-0 sweep of Princeton over
the weekend. She finished second on the team with 12 kills (4.0) and had
just one error while hitting .524. Martin also added two block assists
as the Quakers beat the Tigers for the first time in four years.
Princeton senior outside hitter Sheena Donohue (Los Gatos,
Calif.) recorded 12 kills and six digs in Ivy League opener against Penn.
Yale sophomore Bridget Hearst (Pacific Palisades, Calif.)
was the model of efficiency in the Bulldogs' sweep of Brown on Friday
night. Hearst, playing in only two sets, had seven kills on 10 swings
without an error for a .700 hitting percentage. She also picked up two
digs, landed a service ace and had a hand in two blocks, including one
solo stuff.
