PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Harvard junior forward EMMA MARKLEY (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) averaged 17.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game last week and led the Crimson to the championship game of the Omni Hotels Classic hosted by the University of Colorado. In the title game against the host Buffaloes, Markley paced Harvard 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field with seven rebounds, four blocks and a steal. In the first game of the tournament, Markley had eight points, including a 4-for-4 effort from the free throw line, six blocks and two steals in the win over New Orleans. She earned a spot on the all-tournament team and broke the tournament recorded for blocks over two games. Earlier in the week, Markley scored a team-high 21 points for the Crimson in a loss at New Hampshire.


ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Princeton freshman guard NIVEEN RASHEED (Danville, Calif.) continued impressive rookie debut, recording her first career double-double in the Tigers’ 28-point win over UC Irvine. Rasheed scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while also collecting two steals and one block, as she went 8-of-14 from the floor. Against UCLA, she led the team on the glass with eight rebounds, while scoring 14 points. She shot 4-of-9 from the floor and made all but one of her seven free throws. In addition she picked up one block and one assist.
