Beginning in 1972, Ivy League teams became eligible (by league agreement) to participate in postseason tournament play in addition to the NCAA tournament, to which the Ivy League champion is an automatic qualifier. The League agreed in 1991 that participation in the Preseason NIT also was permissible ...
