Former Brown Ice Hockey Skater Tara Mounsey... |

Mounsey competed for the Brown Bears women's ice hockey team for three years before taking a leave of absence to play for the U.S. National Team. In her three years at Brown, she was a three-time All-Ivy selection and was the ECAC Rookie of the Year in 1996-97. In 1999-2000, despite missing part of the season with a knee injury, Mounsey still managed to finish third among ECAC defensemen in scoring (14 g, 10 a). In addition, Mounsey was a finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, presented annually to the top women's intercollegiate varsity ice hockey player in the nation, her sophomore and junior seasons.
Since leaving Brown, Mounsey has been a regular contributor to the U.S. Women's National Team. She competed in all six games at the XVIII Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan. Mounsey tallied six points (2 g, 4 a) and recorded at least one point in five of the six contests. During the 1997-98 pre-Olympic tour, she was the squad's fifth-leading scorer with 27 points (9 g, 18 a) and contributed at least one point in 16 of 27 games. She will suit up for the U.S. later this month at the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.
