Maybe Ivy League athletes should consider dropping their national affiliations and compete under the Ivy League’s flag. The League could fill out a decent team. In fact, the Ivy League contingent is 55 athletes strong. That total is more than 149 nations, whose athlete representation falls below the League. The League would be in the top 26 percent of all nations, according to roster size, if it were to enter. Included on the Ivy team are athletes from Belize, Canada, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Jamaica, Philippines, Peru, Serbia & Montenegro, Trinidad & Tobago, the United States, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
