William H. (Bill) Stevens was hired as the Ivy League's Coordinator of Volleyball Officiating in March of 2006, becoming the League's first full-time volleyball coordinator.
Stevens has served as the coordinator for both the Atlantic 10 and the Patriot League since 1997 and 2001, respectively. A USA-National Referee since 1983, Stevens's refereeing resume includes working national championship matches at the Divisions I, II and III levels. He also refereed seven USA Volleyball National Open Championship matches.
Stevens also has held several leadership positions in volleyball. He is a past president of the Collegiate Supervisors of Volleyball Officials Association and is currently the rules interpreter for the Philadelphia Board of Volleyball Officials. Stevens also has extensive experience in the training and evaluation roles, serving as a member of USA Volleyball's National Referee Evaluation and Certification Teams from 1988 through 2000.
Stevens retired this past summer from a 30-year banking commercial banking career at Abington Bank in Jenkintown, Pa. He attended Pennsylvania Military College, which is now known as Widener University.
