Abbreviations - Brown (B), Columbia (Cl), Cornell (Cr), Dartmouth (D), Harvard (H), Penn (Pe), Princeton (Pr), Yale (Y). Non-Ivy schools listed are Army (A), Navy (N) and Penn State (PS).

Baseball - The Eastern Intercollegiate Baseball League (EIBL) comprised the eight Ivy schools and Army and Navy through the 1991-92 academic year. Army and Navy dropped out following the 1991-92 academic year. The Ivy League went to league went to divisional play beginning with the 1992-93 academic year with the divisional winners meeting in a best-of-three postseason series to determine the Ivy champion.

Cross Country and Track & Field - Champions in cross country, indoor and outdoor track are determined at the season-ending Heptagonal meets, which included Army (through the 1993-94 academic year) and Navy (through the 2002-03 academic year). If the Heptagonal champion was a non-Ivy school, the next-highest Ivy team finish (listed in parentheses) was awarded the League championship.

Golf - The champion in golf is determined at the Ivy League Championship since the 1974-75 academic year. Prior to that, the Ivy champion was determined at Eastern Intercollegiate Tournament, which was won by Penn State (PS) on numerous occasions. If the Eastern Intercollegiate Tournament champion was a non-Ivy school, the next-highest Ivy team finish (listed in parentheses) was awarded the League championship.

Gymnastics - A champion in gymnastics was determined at a championship meet beginning with the 1967-68 academic year and was discontinued following the 1981-82 academic year.

Rowing - Champions in men's rowing are determined by the fastest Ivy boats in the heavyweight first varsity eight and lightweight first varsity eight grand finals at the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) Championships.

Swimming & Diving - The champion in swimming and diving was determined by the round-robin schedule through the 1995-96 academic year. Beginning with the 1996-97 academic year, the Ivy League champion was determined by the Eastern Intercollegiate Swimming League (EISL) championship meet. This championship meet became an Ivy League-only championship beginning the 2008-09 academic year.

Tennis - The Eastern Intercollegiate Tennis Assciation (EITA) comprised the eight Ivy schools plus Army and Navy from the 1939-40 through the 1997-98 academic years.
