Abbreviations - Brown (B), Columbia (Cl), Cornell (Cr), Dartmouth (D), Harvard (H), Penn (Pe), Princeton (Pr), Yale (Y).

Cross Country and Track & Field - Champions in cross country, indoor and outdoor track are determined at the season-ending Heptagonal meets, which included Army and Navy beginning with the 1984-85 academic year. Army dropped out following the 1991-92 academic year and Navy dropped out following the 2002-03 academic year. If the Heptagonal champion was a non-Ivy school, the next-highest Ivy team finish was award the League championship.

Gymnastics - The champion in gymnastics was determined at a championship meet beginning with the 1976-77 academic year and was discontinued following the 1989-90 academic year.

Rowing - The champion in women's rowing is determined by the fastest boat in the heavyweight first varsity eight grand final at the Ivy League Championship beginning with the 2011-12 academic year. The Ivy League champion was determined the fastest Ivy boat in the heavyweight first varsity eight grand final at the Eastern Association of Women's Rowing Colleges (EAWRC) Sprints from 1974 to 2011. The EAWRC Championships during the 1977-78 academic year was cancelled due to bad weather, thus there was no Ivy League champion recognized that year. Women's rowing at Harvard has continued to row under the name Radcliffe so any Ivy titles won by Harvard in women's rowing are abbreviated with the letter "R".

Swimming & Diving - The champion in swimming and diving has been determined by an Ivy League championship meet from the 1976-77 to 1981-82 academic years and every year since the 1996-97 academic year. From the 1982-83 academic year to the 1995-96 academic year, the Ivy champion was determined by the regular-season, round-robin schedule. During those years, the eight Ivy teams competed in the Eastern Intercollegiate Swimming League (EISL) championship meet. This championship meet began an Ivy-only championship during the 2008-09 academic year.

Volleyball - The champion in volleyball was determined by a postseason tournament through the 2000-01 academic year. Starting with the 2001-02 academic year, the volleyball champion was determined by the regular-season, double round-robin schedule.
