Princeton Paces All FCS Schools in the Second Spring Division I Directors Cup Standings for the 2010-11 Season

CLEVELAND -- Princeton once again paces all NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) schools in the second spring Division I Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings for the 2010-11 season.

The Tigers are at No. 38 in the June 17 standings, thanks to their strong spring showing that amassed 199.00 points. Princeton has 550.00 total points and is 11 spots higher than the next FCS school, Villanova, with 435.75 points.

Stanford again finds itself in the top spot of the Division I standings with 1526.75 total points. Although baseball points still need to be calculated, the Cardinal will capture the Cup. The final standings will be released after the College World Series.  
 
The Cardinal most recently finished second in women’s rowing, sixth in men’s outdoor track & field, eighth in women’s outdoor track & field, ninth in softball and 31st in men’s golf.       
 
Ohio State is in second place with 1277.05 total points.  The Buckeyes turned in results of fifth in men’s golf, 10th in women’s rowing and 26th in women’s outdoor track & field.
 
In third place with 1171.50 points is Duke. The Blue Devils garnered points by finishing third in men’s golf, 16th in women’s outdoor track & field and 34th in men’s outdoor track & field.  
 
California has moved into fourth with 1141.50 points.  The Bears finished third in women’s rowing, fifth in softball, 19th in men’s golf, 25th in men’s outdoor track & field and 65th in women’s outdoor track & field.   
 
Florida rounds out the top-five with 1122.25 total points.  The Gators tallied a second-place finish in softball, while also finishing third in men’s outdoor track & field, 23rd in men’s golf and 34th in women’s outdoor track & field.
 
The ACC remains atop the current conference standings, with three of its member institutions currently in the top 10.  ACC institutions in the top 10 include Duke, North Carolina (sixth) and Florida State (10th).   
 
Twelve spring NCAA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles: women’s golf - UCLA; men’s golf – Augusta State (Ga.); women’s lacrosse – Northwestern; men’s lacrosse – Virginia; women’s rowing – Brown (R.I.); softball – Arizona State; women’s tennis – Florida; men’s tennis – Southern California; women’s outdoor track & field – Texas A&M; men’s outdoor track & field – Texas A&M; men’s volleyball – Ohio State; and women’s water polo – Stanford.

The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports -- 10 women’s and 10 men’s.  
 
The final Division I spring standings will be released Thursday, June 30.
