The Ivy League Re-Launches Its Official Athletics Website
PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Ivy League announced the
re-launch of its official athletics website, IvyLeagueSports.com,
on Thursday, August 19, with PrestoSports serving as the
site’s new online provider.
The enhanced IvyLeagueSports.com features new and expanded content areas, while maintaining the site’s long-standing approach of bringing quality, detailed coverage of Ivy athletics and of highlighting the League’s rich traditions and the athletic and academic successes of its current and former student-athletes, coaches and administrators.
“Ivy League athletics represent a special place in college athletics. We partnered with PrestoSports to bring our passionate fan base a special place where they can enjoy and follow everything Ivy in an integrated, online experience,” said Ivy League Associate Director of Communications Scottie Rodgers.
New features on the site include:
- Innovative graphic displays along the masthead to allow direct access to the eight Ivy institutions’ university and athletics websites and the site’s primary home page for each school.
- Designated areas for master schedule and result listings, tagged by sport and organized by day, that is easily accessible.
- An expanded features area (Ivies in the News), catalogued by sport, to serve as a “virtual newsstand” and highlight coverage of Ivy League athletics by media outlets from around the world.
- A new content area (Ivies in the Community) to highlight community services initiatives and activities of Ivy student-athletes, their teams and athletics departments.
- Convenient quick link icons to access social media (Facebook and Twitter) and informational (blogs and RSS feeds) areas and to share content via Google Bookmarks, Digg and Delicious.
- A video platform for the new IvyLeagueSports.tv, which will develop into the multimedia home for live and on-demand audio and video coverage of Ivy action from the regular season and championship events.
- Enhanced presentation of current and historical information of the League’s 33 men’s and women’s varsity sports and 12 championship events.
The Ivy League Office selected PrestoSports to overhaul its official athletics website for the first time since 2002. PrestoSports is a leading technology provider to collegiate athletic departments with services including website design and hosting, live stats, award management, merchandizing, and officiating. The Ivy Office worked closely with PrestoSports over the past several months to design and build a streamlined site navigation to showcase the Ivy League as the company’s first NCAA Division I conference among its network of clients.
