NACWAA Administrator of the Year Honorees

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Ivy League Executive Director Robin Harris has been named President of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA), the organization announced at its Convention in Kansas City, Mo.

Harris, who became the Ivy League’s second full-time Executive Director on July 1, 2009, joined NACWAA in 1996, at one point serving as Legal Counsel.

"I have had the privilege of working with Robin in the past so I know her talents and leadership well," NACWAA CEO Patti Phillips said. "We are extremely fortunate to have someone of her stature leading our team. Her broad experience in intercollegiate athletics, coupled with her passion for developing leaders make her the perfect leader, champion and voice for NACWAA."

The president leads the NACWAA Board of Directors, which consists of 15 members and three ex-officio members whose responsibility is to support the organization’s mission, values and purpose; ensure adequate resources, legal and ethical integrity; and maintain accountability.

The President-Elect and new members of the Board of Directors are elected by a vote from the NACWAA membership. Harris was voted President-Elect last year and automatically rolls into the President role at the 2012 Convention, which took place in Kansas City, Mo., from Oct. 7-9.

Harris will remain on the NACWAA Executive Committee for one more year as Immediate Past President following her year as President.

Harris was not the only Ivy Leaguer honored at the NACWAA 2012 Convention. MIT Director of Athletics and former Penn women's basketball head coach Julie Soriero was named Division III Administrator of the Year and Inge Radice, who recently retired from her post as Senior Associate Director of Athletics at Princeton, was named Division I FCS Administrator of the Year. Moreover, Princeton Executive Associate Director of Athletics for Operations Erin McDermott is a member of the NACWAA Board of Directors.
