Ivies on Twitter - #USMNT vs. Portugal

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The United States men’s soccer national team's second World Cup match was even more exciting than the first, as the Americans trailed Portugal, then led, then gave up a late goal to finish in a 2-2 draw. Before, during and after the game, Ivies everywhere took to twitter to comment on the contest.

Portugal got on the board first, after a failed clear by the Americans in the fifth minute. That lead remained until the 64th minute, when USA's Jermaine Jones struck from almost 30 yards out to tie the game, 1-1. Seventeen minutes later, off a deflection in the box, Graham Zusi crossed the ball in front of the net, where Clint Dempsey bodied it into the goal for the 2-1 lead. However, in the 95th minute, with approximately 20 seconds remaining in the game, a turnover by USA led to the equalizing goal by Portugal, and the contest ended in a 2-2 draw.
