Jay
Bavishi will be a freshman at Boston College (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) in
the fall. In his third summer with the Ivy League, Bavishi is continuing his involvement with Ivies in Athens -- a website developed by the Ivy office to document the League's Olympic history -- pursuing print publication for the project. He was instrumental in the launch of the site in the summer of 2004. In 2003, Bavishi was charged with the Catching Up With feature on the site -- interviewing prominent Ivy alumni in a question-and-answer format. Today, Bavishi continues to be involved with the the League's home page -- updating it with releases and features.
Bavishi graduated from Princeton Day School in June 2005. At Princeton Day, he started as a staff writer for the
student newspaper, The Spokesman, and graduated as Editor-in-Chief -- while winning second place in the 2002 Professional Writer's
Alliance of Mercer County's journalism contest. Bavishi also played basketball for Princeton Day.
A long time resident of Princeton, N.J., Bavishi spent the summer of
2000 as a baseball umpire for the South Brunswick Athletic
Association. During the summer of 2002, he was a library intern for
FinGlobe, Inc. -- a financial information firm in Princeton.
