Co-Coordinator of Field Hockey Officials Barb Carreiro
Barb Carreiro, the Ivy League Co-Coordinator of Field Hockey Officials, has held the position for six years. She been officiating for over a decade and has also been the Coodinator of Officials for the Massachusetts College Field Hockey Umpires Association for ten years.
Carreiro has assigned officials to tournaments in the Big East, Northeast Ten, NESCAC and ECAC. She was an umpire at the 2001 NCAA Division I Final Four and an umpire at the 2001 and 2002 NCAA Division III Final Fours. Carreiro is a national umpire for both field hockey and lacrosse.
In 1999, Carreiro served as a judge during the Pan American Games. She has also served as a field hockey clinician and was formerly the chair of the USFHA Umpiring Committee.
Prior to officiating, Carreiro graduated from Bridgewater State College and went on to become a physical education teacher at Dartmouth Middle School in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
