Ivy League Compliance Assistant Nathan Fry |
Nathan Fry, who received his M.S. in Sports Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi in August 2001, will enter his second year with the Ivy League in the role of compliance assistant.
While at Southern Miss, he served as Athletics Compliance Graduate Assistant. His daily duties included overseeing the administration of athletic scholarships, recruiting and eligibility of continuing student-athletes. Fry, who graduated at the top of his class, was also instrumental in the development of the Southern Miss Compliance Manual — a complete reference guide to athletics compliance issues on campus. As a part of his Master’s Degree, Fry wrote "The Slippery Slope: Pratfalls of the National Letter of Intent," a look at the administration of the NLI and its effects on recruits.
Fry earned a B.S. in English from the University of Southern Indiana in 2000. A native of Washington, Ind., he served as Sports Information Assistant at Southern Indiana for two years. While at USI, he was in charge of publicity for men’s and women’s cross country, women’s soccer, volleyball, women’s basketball and softball. He was also largely responsible for the organization of the USI athletics website, including the development of the online record book.
Fry’s duties at the Ivy office in 2001-02 included overseeing publicity efforts for women’s soccer, field hockey, men's and women’s ice hockey, men’s lacrosse and softball. He also tracked the Ivy League’s participation in the Winter Olympics as well as arranged the Ivy League’s online celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
