Ivy League Public Information Assistant Eddy Lentz

Eddy Lentz returns to the Ivy League this year as Public Information Assistant after a successful first year. Along with overseeing a variety of sports and championship events, Lentz was responsible for the Ivy League Black History Celebration finding its own home on the web -- www.IvyBlackHistory.com.

Charged with the oversight of the website, he also wrote feature stories on the emergence of black quarterbacks in the Ivy League in the early 1970s as well as the Jones Brothers, the first African-American brothers to ever serve as head men's basketball coaches in the same league.

This summer he is spearheading the launch of yet another website, this one covering the Ivy League and its association and history with the Olympic Games. That project will be launched in August, in conjunction with the Opening Ceremonies in Athens.

Lentz, a 2001 graduate of the University of North Carolina, worked for three years in the Tar Heel Athletic Communications Office and served as the full-time intern for the 2001-02 year. As an intern, Lentz supervised media relations for wrestling, volleyball, men's and women's track and field, and men's and women's cross country. He also assisted with football, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, men's lacrosse, and baseball.

A native of Wilmington, N.C., Lentz received a B.A. in journalism with a concentration in public relations from UNC.

Lentz will assist in the management and update of the Ivy website this season will overseeing a number of sports, championships and projects to be determined later this summer.
