Ed Meier has been the Ivy League's Coordinator of Women' Basketball Officials since 1990. A 30-year veteran referee, Meier has officiated on the high school, college, international or pro level beginning in 1972, when he became a National High School Federation Official. In addition to his duties with the Ivy League, he also held the title of Supervisor of Officials for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference from 1990-1998.
Meier has a wealth of professional experience. He has officiated NBA games, training camps and Invitationals, as well as the CBA, Eastern League, USBL, ABL and Women's Pro League. Meier was a 20-year veteran of the Jersey Summer Pro League, serving from 1980-2000.
On the college level, Meier has worked with many Division 1 conferences. He has officiated games in the ECAC, MAAC, Northeast Conference, A-10, America East and the Patriot League. Meier has also worked four NCAA Division III Championships and one Division I Championship. He was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Official of the Year in 1997
Meier has been a member of the NCAA Division I Supervisors Committee since 1990 and also served as the Secretary to the NCAA Division I Coordinators of Officiating Association from 1994-1999. Meier was the Garden State Board of Officials Executive Officer from 1979-1988.
Along with his officiating and supervising ventures, Meier somehow finds time to be a guidance counselor at Cliffside Park High School in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. Previously, he was a Social Studies teacher at the school as well as a teacher of the handicapped.
And still, after all of his obligations, Meier takes time out of his schedule to serve as a professional magician, with over 250 charity appearances under his belt.
