Ivy League Public Information Aide Ben Samara
Ben Samara, a public information aide with the Ivy League since the summer of 2001, is a senior at The College of New Jersey. A 2002 graduate of Hopewell Valley Central High School in Pennington, N.J., his main task during the summer is designing, editing and maintaining the Ivy League Football E-Guide. The E-Guide has reached new levels of design and content every year since its inception in 2002. Samara's other duties include historical research and updating the League's website with press releases and features.

Samara’s experience in the field began with his stint as a staff writer for his town’s local newspaper, The Pennington Post, from the fall of 1998 until the spring of 1999. As the paper’s only sports writer, he covered all scholastic sports ranging from soccer to field hockey.

His work at Princeton University football games in the Fall of 1999 led to an internship with the Princeton University sports information department the following summer, where he helped put together media guides and press releases.

In high school, Samara was an All-County selection in basketball (3-year letterwinner) and track (four-year letterwinner). He earned a Central Jersey title and a Mercer County title in the high jump in 2001. At TCNJ, Samara won the NJAC conference high jump championship as a freshman.

Samara will complete his studies at TCNJ this year, majoring in Journalism with a minor in Interactive Multimedia. He will also be in his third year as Editor-in-Chief of Unbound, TCNJ's online magazine.
