The Asa S. Bushnell Cup (POY) is an annual award initiated in 1970, which honors Asa S. Bushnell, Princeton '21, and Commissioner of the Eastern College Athletic Conference from 1938 to 1970. The Bushnell Cup is presented by the Eastern Association of Intercollegiate Football Officials and is awarded by vote of the Ivy League's eight head football coaches to that player in the league who displays outstanding qualities of leadership, competitive spirit, contribution to the team, and accomplishments on the field.

The Rookie of the Year (ROY) was established as the Sophomore of the Year in 1981 and became the Rookie of the Year in 1993 to reflect freshman eligibility. To be eligible for the award, a player must be competing (practices included) in his first year of collegiate football.

The Academic All-Ivy Program (Academic) was established in 1992 and honors student-athletes three times a year. To be eligible for the award, the students must be either starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. Each institution nominates five men and five women from its eligible student-athletes at the end of the fall, winter and spring seasons

The All-Ivy teams (1st and 2nd teams and honorable mention) have been awarded since 1956, although second-team selections were not made until the mid-1960s and the honorable mention status not until the early-1970s.
