PRINCETON, N.J. -- A busy slate of action for the Ancient Eight included a number of outstanding individual performances while Columbia and Dartmouth sit atop the standings with the best win-loss records in the League.

Dartmouth's Kyle Hendricks turned in one of the best pitching performances in school history, fanning 15 Army batters in seven innings as the Big Green claimed an 11-2 win. Penn picked up a 7-0 win over Norfolk in similar fashion as Vince Voiro struck out 10 in a seven-inning, complete-game shutout – also his first win of the season.

Columbia's Eric Williams, Dartmouth's Jeff Keller and Penn's Brandon Engelhardt led their teams to a trio of wins last week with their performances at the plate. Williams hit .522 on the week and leads all ivies with a .500 batting average for the season. Keller banged out seven hits for eight RBIs and Engelhardt stretched his current hit streak to eight games, while also leading the League with 23 total hits.

Another hectic slate of action is on the horizon this week, folowed by the start of Ivy play on Saturday, Apr. 2.

Columbia sophomore Eric Williams (Sarasota, Fla.) is the second Lion to earn Player of the Week honors this season. The infielder/pitcher had an outstanding week for the Lions, helping them go 4-3, moving to 7-6 on the season. Williams hit safely in each of his six starts in the field, posting four multiple-hit games during the week. He batted .522 overall with six run batted in and carried a .621 on-base percentage and slugged at a .696 clip during the week. Williams, who has pitched well in relief for the Lions this year, also tossed two innings in Columbia's 3-1 win at Florida Gulf Coast, earning his first save of the season. He shut out the Eagles in the final two frame, allowing just one hit.

Dartmouth's Kyle Hendricks (San Juan Capastrano, Calif.) is the Pitcher of the Week after breaking a 39-year-old school record. The junior right-handed hurler needed just seven innings to strike out 15 Army hitters, a career record and the most by a Big Green pitcher in 39 years. He struck out at least one batter every inning, twice striking out the side. After surrendering the one run in the third, the junior right-hander set down the next 11 consecutive hitters, eight on strikes. The school record for strikeouts in one game is 20 set by Pete Broberg '72 against Boston College in the 1971 season, and only Charlie Janes '72 had struck out more than 14 since (17 against Princeton in 1972). Hendricks was also named one of five Louisville Slugger's National Players of the Week for his record-setting performance.

He also had a pair of three-hit games to close the week, including going 3-for-4 with three of the team's eight hits on Sunday against Norfolk. In his final at-bat of the game he smacked an RBI single in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 1-1.
