Tigers Take on Texas Friday to Open Austin Regional Action

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Princeton makes its 11th all-time appearance in the NCAA Baseball Championship when it begins play int he Austin Regional Friday, June 3 against host and No. 7 national seed Texas. The Tigers and Longhorns face off at 7:30 p.m. ET. Preceding them is a 2 p.m. ET match-up between Texas State and Kent State.
This is the first appearance for the Tigers since 2006 when they went 0-2 in the Fayetteville Regional, falling to Oklahoma State, 4-1, and Arkansas, 6-2. Their last win in NCAA action came in 2004, when they claimed a 4-2 victory over host and top-seed Virginia in the Charlottesville Regional. Princeton is 7-19 all-time in NCAA play.
The Tigers completed the regular season with a 23-22 overall record and a 15-5 mark in Ivy League play. Winners of the Gehrig Division by virtue of the division's best record, they returned to the Ivy League Championship series for the first time since 2006, claiming the championship over Dartmouth by winning the bookend match-ups of the three-game series.
