Yale's Sokolowski to Serve as 2009 Fiesta Bowl Official

Former Yale football player Bob Sokolowski '69 will serve as the field judge for the 2009 Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix, Ariz.
Sokolowski, a lawyer in Meriden, Conn., played for legendary coach Carm Cozza. The distinguished running back and punt returner on some of the greatest Yale teams of all time will officiate the Texas-Ohio State matchup at the University of Phoenix Stadium on January 5.
This is his seventh consecutive year with a college bowl game and the third straight with a Bowl Championship Series contest. Sokolowski has worked numerous bowl games, including the Rose, Sugar, Fiesta, Music City, Capital One and Independence. He was on the field for the 2003 BCS title game at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, La. won by the Louisiana State Tigers over the Oklahoma Sooners, 21-14.
A two-sport standout during his collegiate career, Sokolowski was also the captain of the 1969 version of the Bulldog baseball team.
