PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Ivy League announced today
that it has suspended Cornell football freshman defensive back
Jarrod Watson-Lewis for the Big Red's Sept. 29
game at Bucknell for a targeted hit that resulted in a personal
foul during the Sept. 22 Yale-Cornell game.
Rule 9, Section 6, Article 2 of the 2011 & 2012 NCAA Football Rules and Interpretations Manual states when a foul is called for initiating contact/targeting a player "that does not result in a player disqualification, there shall automatically be a video review by the conference for possible additional sanctions before the next scheduled game."
Watson-Lewis is eligible to return to game action for Cornell's Oct. 6 game at Harvard.
