PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Ivy League field hockey season gets underway as all eight teams open their non-conference schedules over Labor Day weekend. A trio of games on Friday, Sept. 3, including Dartmouth playing host to Fairfield as part of the Big Green Classic, Cornell traveling to Lock Haven and Yale hosting Sacred Heart, gets the season started. Then on Saturday, Sept. 4 Harvard plays host to Sacred Heart and Brown opens its season against Miami (Ohio) in Iowa City, Iowa.

On Sunday, Sept. 5, five Ivy League teams play non-conference games, including the first games of the season for Columbia, which hosts Vermont, and No. 4 Princeton, which hosts Bucknell. Sunday’s other games include Cornell playing at Delaware, Dartmouth hosting Missouri State in the final game of the Big Green Classic and Yale hosting Quinnipiac in its second intra-state showdown of the weekend.  

The flurry of opening weekend action concludes on Monday, Sept. 6, highlighted by Penn opening its season with a home game versus Rider. Brown plays at No. 19 Iowa and Harvard hosts Bryant.
