Four Tigers Take All-America Honors in Field Hockey

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Four members of the Princeton field hockey team earned All-America honors on Monday when the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced the 2010 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-America Teams.
Juniors Katie Reinprecht and Kathleen Sharkey each earned first-team honors while sophomore Julia Reinprecht and Michelle Cesan was named to the second team. Katie Reinprecht and Sharkey both were named All-Americas for the third time in their careers, while it is a second honor for both Julia Reinprecht and Cesan.
Sharkey was the Ivy League's Player of the Year after setting a Princeton record for goals in a season and leading the NCAA in the category. She led Princeton with 33 goals and 74 points this season and currently ranks third all-time at Princeton with 160 points.
Katie Reinprecht tied with Cesan for second on the team with 12 goals and five assists for 29 points although Reinprecht missed the final four games of the regular season due to injury. The 2008 and 2009 Ivy League Player of the Year returned to play in Princeton's two NCAA tournament games and added a goal and an assist to her numbers while playing through injury.
Cesan and Julia Reinprecht completed Princeton's top four scorers. Among her 12 goals, Cesan provided three game winners. Julia Reinprecht finished with four goals, a team-high 14 assists and 22 points.
All four players were first-team All-Ivies this season and named to the first All-Region team.
