Bird and Hood Named NFCA All-Americans, Thirteen Ivies Named to All-Region Teams

PRINCTEON, N.J. -- Princeton sophomore Amanda Bird was named a second team All-America and Dartmouth senior Kelly Hood earned third team honors on Monday when the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced the 2011 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-America Teams.

Bird was selected as a first-team All-Ivy and all-region player after scoring nine goals and three assists for 21 points from the midfield for the Ivy League champion Tigers. Her nine goals tied for second on the team her 21 points ranked third.

A First Team All-Ivy League selection in 2011, Hood led her team with 33 points and 14 goals. She finished her four-year playing career at Dartmouth with new program records in both goals (58) and points (134). She was also rewarded for her stellar senior season by being named the 2011 Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year.
