Botte and Hood to Play in 2011 NFHCA Division I Senior Game

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Ivy League field hockey players Alex Botte of Cornell and Kelly Hood of Dartmouth have been selected to participate in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's  (NFHCA) Division I Senior Game, it was announced on Nov. 1.

This year's Senior Game will be held on Saturday, November 19th at the University of Louisville. The participants will face off against the U.S. Women's National Team as well as against each other in a series of four 25 minute sessions.

Botte was a first-team All-Ivy selection a season ago and is currently Cornell's all-time leader in career victories (19), sharing the mark with Yanaka Bernal and Kaitlin Tierney. She also ranks eighth overall for shutouts in a career (4) and needs just one more to move up to fifth overall, while sitting in 11th place for career saves (197).

Hood is currently the Dartmouth's all-time leader in both goals (58) and points (134). Her 14 goals and 33 points lead her team and rank second in the Ivy League this season.

Last season, the Ivy League had three players selected to play in the Division I Senior Game including Catie De Stio of Cornell, Katherine Hyland of Brown and Dartmouth's Virginia Peisch.
