ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell standout Hannah Balleza has been selected to participate in the Front Rush/NFHCA Division I Senior Game, as was announced by the NFHCA this afternoon.
Balleza is the only player to be selected out of the Ivy League and she becomes the third Big Red player to be selected over the past four seasons, joining Catie DeStio '10 and Alex Botte '11.
While two games still remain in her collegiate career, Balleza enters this weekend ranking third overall in Cornell history with 35 career goals. She needs just one more tally to move into a tie for second place with DeStio. She also currently ranks fourth in Big Red history for both career points (90) and career assists (20). She needs just two more points to move into a tie with Linda Miller (1980-83) for third place overall and just two more assists to move into a tie with DeStio in third place.
Balleza is a three-time All-Ivy selection, and a two-time Second-Team Mideast Region All-America. An integral part of the Big Red offense since her arrival on East Hill, she was also named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2010. Outside of Cornell, Balleza has also been selected to the US National Indoor Squad in each of the past four seasons.
In total, 38 players were selected to participate in the Senior Game, which will be played at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in Virginia Beach, Va. on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2:15 p.m.
