Kent Austin Named 26th Football Head Coach at Cornell
Kent Austin, who spent five years as a successful coach in the Canadian Football League and the last two years as offensive coordinator at the University of Mississippi, has been named The Roger J. Weiss '61 Head Coach of Cornell Football by Andy Noel, the Meakem*Smith Director of Athletics and Physical Education.

Cornell's Jim Knowles to Lead Duke Defense
Jim Knowles '87 has resigned his position as The Roger J. Weiss '61 Coach of Football at Cornell and has accepted the defensive coordinator position at Duke University. He took over the position at his alma mater in January 2004, becoming the 25th head football coach at Cornell and posted a 26-34 record and a 16-26 mark in Ivy play in six years.

Bob Surace Chosen to Lead Princeton Football
Bob Surace ’90, a key member of the 1989 Ivy League champion Princeton football team, has been named the Charles W. Caldwell Jr. ’25 Head Coach of Football at Princeton University, it was announced Dec. 23 by Princeton Director of Athletics Gary Walters ’67.

Brown’s Jasinowski Earns Academic All-America Honors
Brown senior right tackle Paul Jasinowski has been named second-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

All-Ivy Football -- 2009
Brown senior wide receiver Buddy Farnham (pic.) and Penn senior linebacker Jake Lewko share the Asa S. Bushnell Cup as the Ivy League Football Player of the Year for the first time since the trophy was initiated in 1970.

Ivy Weekly Football Report 11 - 11/23
Harvard junior quarterback Collier Winters threw two touchdown passes of 32 and 41 yards in the waning moments of the fourth quarter to lead the Crimson to a 14-10 victory at Yale in the 126th playing of The Game.

Perfect: Penn Wins 2009 Ivy Football Title
Penn got rushing touchdowns from Lyle Marsh and Keiffer Garton in the first half and two touchdown passes from Garton in the second half to roll 34-0 over Cornell and capture its 14th Ivy League Football title.

Penn senior quarterback Kyle Olson had a stellar day in a driving rainstorm in the Quakers’ 17-7 win over Harvard to win a share of their first Ivy title in six seasons. Olson accounted for both of Penn's touchdowns, throwing for 159 yards and a touchdown on 14-of-24 passing, while also rushing for the game-winning touchdown.

Football Features...
Career Day
Jimmie Lee Solomon graduated from Dartmouth in 1978 only to go on to attend Harvard Law and become a high-ranking executive at Major League Baseball. The former Big Green football player and trackster recently visited his high school alma mater in rural Texas for the first time in three decades to deliver a special message.

Role Player
No matter the role, Cornell’s Kevin Boothe is ready to do his part either on the football field for the New York Giants or bringing smiles to children during the holiday season.

Adaptive Volunteering
Harvard football players took to the river last weekend with a volunteer effort in conjunction with AccesSportAmerica, a national non-profit organization that inspires higher function and fitness for children and adults living with disabilities through high-challenge sports.

Billy Ball
Bill O'Brien has been praised as a good teammate and great leader going back to his days as a Brown football player in the early 1990's. Today, the former Bear has translated those skills into the coaching profession, as he looks to guide one of the most potent offenses in the NFL.

The Estes Way
With three championships since 1999, and two in the last four years, Phil Estes has delivered the kind of numbers that make him arguably the best football coach in the history of Brown University. His way has brought about a resurgence of Bears football.
