Coaches across Continents

Coaches across Continents, with the help of Harvard's Seamus Malin (’62) and Nick Gates (’91), received the Best New Project Award at the prestigious Beyond Sport Awards. Personalities from the world of business, politics and sport made up the 500-person room including Sir Tony Blair, Desmond Tutu, Ian Thorpe and Michael Johnson.

Model of Consistency
When Princeton's Bob Bradley ('80) took over the role of coaching the United States men's soccer team from Bruce Arena in the fall of 2006, words fail to describe the size of shoes he needed to fill. He has responded beautifully.

Starfish Africa
When former Princeton soccer player and current U.S. marine Peter Kingston hasn't been busy serving our nation in Iraq, he's been in Africa working hard to help give hope to a new generation of bright leaders, through education and community service.

Redemption [Swan] Song
In 2005, Michael Fucito made a mistake that he paid dearly for. Now the senior is making amends for the time he lost. An undeniable talent on the field and in the classroom, a single force now drives him: redemption.

A New Lease
A horrific snowboarding injury in Utah nearly took Gavin Blades' life. But the once promising Yale soccer player is back on the sidelines — as a Student Assistant Coach for the Bulldogs — and looking to regain his old form.

Tiger Service
A number of Princeton athletes are spending the summer months making their presence felt around the world. Soccer player Sara Peteraf is in Costa Rica teaching young girls the world's game, while the field hockey team recently visited a local school in Argentina.

Getting His Due
He was handpicked by Pele to be the goalie for the 1976 New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League. And that doesn’t even make the top-five list of most interesting facts about former Harvard goalie Shep Messing (’72).
