PHILADELPHIA -- A year ago, the Penn men's basketball team went into New Haven to open up the Ivy League portion of its season. The Bulldogs scored the game's first 11 points, and the Quakers never recovered in taking the loss. On Friday night at The Palestra, it was Penn who got out to the quick start on Yale, again in the Quakers' Ivy opener. And while the Bulldogs fought back and made the game competitive for almost the entire second half, they never led in a game that Penn ultimately won, 66-58.

PHILADELPHIA -- It is common in sports parlance to say that, when a visiting team emerges from a tight game with a win, they "escaped" from the home team's venue with a win. Well, on Saturday night at The Palestra, it was the home team that did the escaping. The team in question -- the Penn men's basketball team -- defeated Brown, 80-78, in overtime.
