PRINCETON, N.J. -- Ivy League men’s basketball closes out its 2010-11 regular season with the annual Princeton-Penn game this Tuesday at The Palestra.
And as it is annually, this game has impact on the Ivy title race. A Princeton win over Penn would earn the Tigers a share of the regular-season championship with Harvard, which earned a share of its first-ever Ivy title with a victory over Princeton on March 5, and force a one-game playoff to determine the representative to receive the League’s automatic bid to the 2011 NCAA Divsion I Men’s Basketball Championship. A Princeton loss would give Harvard the title outright and propel the Crimson into the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1946.
The Princeton-Penn game will be carried live on ESPN3.com and will be the final regular season Ivy League Men's Basketball Game of the Week on SIRIUS Satellite Radio Channel 130.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Harvard sophomore guard Brandyn Curry (Huntersville, N.C.) was an all-around force all weekend, earning two double-doubles and helping the Crimson to a share of the program’s first Ivy League title in wins over Penn and Princeton. Curry handed out a career-high 14 assists, went 6-of-6 from the foul line and scored 13 points in Harvard’s 79-64 win over Penn. He also recorded four steals and was 3-of-5 from the field. Against Princeton, Curry dished out 10 assists, blocked one shot, made a steal and shot 4-of-6 from the floor to finish with 10 points.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Columbia freshman guard Meiko Lyles (Nashville, Tenn.) finished his rookie season with a flourish, scoring a career-high 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting in the Lions’ victory over Brown. Lyles made a pair of three-pointers, came down with a career-best eight rebounds in the winning effort and added a blocked shot and a steal for good measure. A night earlier against Yale, he shot 50 percent from the field at 60 percent from beyond the arc, scoring 14 points in the Lions’ double-overtime setback. Lyles also had a pair of steals in that game.
