PRINCETON, N.J. -- The NCAA selection committee has chosen a No. 13 seed in the East Region for the Ivy League co-champion Princeton Tigers and fourth-seeded Kentucky as the opponent in a Thursday second-round game.

It will be the 24th NCAA Tournament appearance for Princeton, an Ivy League record total. Princeton is 13-27 in NCAA Tournament games, last appearing in 2004 and last winning a game in 1998 as a No. 5 seed against 12th-seeded UNLV in Hartford, Conn.

The game will begin at approximately 2:45 p.m. ET, or 30 minutes after the end of the West Virginia game to begin at 12:15 p.m., and will be shown on CBS with Ian Eagle and Jim Spanarkel on the call. The round now termed the first round under the new 68-team format will begin Tuesday and will include eight teams seeded 11th, 12th and 16th.

Princeton and Kentucky have faced each other three times before, including once in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 1977. Kentucky picked up a 72-58 win at The Palestra in that game, the most recent meeting between the teams. Kentucky also won 96-82 on its home floor on Dec. 18, 1971, while the Tigers' only win in the series came at Kentucky on Dec. 31, 1926.

Since 1-through-16 seeding began in the tournament in 1979, Princeton has been a No. 13 seed two other times, in 1990 and 1996. Princeton fans will remember the most recent No. 13 seed prior to tonight as a notable one, when the Tigers upset defending champion UCLA, a No. 4 seed, in Indianapolis, Ind.

Tickets for Princeton's opening NCAA Tournament game will go on sale to students, alumni and season ticket holders beginning at 8:30 p.m. for walk-up orders only Sunday night at the Jadwin Gymnasium ticket office and will continue until 10 p.m. Faculty, staff and members of the general public can have their name placed on a waiting list if tickets remain available.

There are only 100 student tickets available, and alumni and season ticket holders will be limited to four tickets purchased per person. Students can purchase one ticket per student ID up to two IDs shown per person. Faculty, staff and members of the general public will be limited to four tickets purchased per person.

Following the in-person orders Sunday night, the athletic ticket office will be open Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to take phone orders for NCAA tickets.
