PRINCETON, N.J. -- Ivy League men’s
basketball closes out 2011 and moves into 2012 with 14 games on the
schedule this week.
All eight teams are in action, mostly playing away from the
friendly confines of their home arenas as only three games are on
Ivy home courts. Four of those road games are in the national
spotlight on the ESPN family of networks. The League has
back-to-back appearances on ESPN3 with Harvard at Boston College on
Thursday and Princeton at Florida State Friday. The next two days
two Ancient Eight teams play on ESPNU as Yale plays at Florida in a
New Year Eve matinee followed by Penn ringing in the New Year at
Cameron Indoor Stadium against Duke.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Penn senior guard Tyler Bernardini (Carlsbad,
Calif.) had a stupendous offensive game in the Quakers’ win
over Marist, scoring a career-high 30 points on eight
three-pointers for the second game in a row. Bernardini became the
first player in school history to connect on eight three-pointers
in consecutive games. He also added five rebounds, one shy of the
team high for the game.
