PRINCETON, N.J. -- Penn and Princeton are among the 16 teams set to participate in the 2012 College Basketball Invitational presented by Zebra Pen.
Princeton opens with a first-round game at Evansville on Tuesday, March 13. The game tips off at 8 p.m. and will be carried live on HDNet. Penn will host Quinnipiac in its first-round game at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14.
It will be Princeton's second CBI game in the state of Indiana, head coach Mitch Henderson's home state. After a win over Duquesne to open the 2010 CBI, the Tigers beat IUPUI in Indianapolis to advance to the tournament's semifinal.
Penn advances to the postseason for the first time since the 2006-07 season. The Quakers are hosting their third postseason contest in program history and the first since 1978. It will be Penn's 25th postseason appearance -- 23 NCAA Tournament trips and a National Invitational Tournament (NIT) appearance in 1981.
The College Basketball Invitational Presented by Zebra Pen, or CBI, is a 16-team tournament. First-round games will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, with quarterfinals taking place on campus sites Monday, March 19. Semifinal games will be played on campus sites Wednesday, March 21.
Prior to the semifinals, the remaining teams will be re-bracketed. The Championship Series is a best-of-three in which one team will host two of the three games. Those games will be played on March 26, March 28, and March 30.
