PRINCETON, N.J. -- Ivy League men's basketball
continues its serving of hoops for the holidays with a trio of
games on three-straight days to close out the final weekend of
2012.
A couple of Ancient Eight squads make trips out west as both Yale
and Harvard play Saint Mary's (Calif.) on back-to-back days. It
will be second game for both teams with Yale taking on Nevada on
Friday night and Harvard facing California on Saturday night.
Brown and Cornell tip off the weekend on Friday night with the Big
Red playing at Saint Francis (Pa.) and Brown hosting Providence at
home for the first time since Nov. 30, 1982, when the two teams met
at Marvel Gymnasium. The cross-town rivals meet in a game to be
carried live on the NBC Sports Network.
Penn and Princeton are also in action as the Quakers make the
short trek to Staten Island to play Wagner on Saturday afternoon
and Princeton heads to the Buckeye State to face Akron on Sunday
night.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Princeton senior forward Ian Hummer (Vienna, Va.)
helped the Tigers to back-to-back, double-digit wins over teams
with winning records with victories over Rider and Bucknell. Hummer
poured in 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and a
block vs. Rider. He followed that performance with a 17-point,
eight-rebound effort that helped Princeton top that came into the
game with only one loss. Hummer was efficient from the floor,
knocking down 13 of his 24 attempts.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Princeton freshman forward Hans Brase (Clover,
S.C.) had a breakout week in the Tigers' wins over Rider and
Bucknell. Brase posted the first back-to-back, double-digit scoring
games of his career with a career-high 17 points vs. Rider followed
by 14 points vs. Bucknell. He took advantage of his scoring
opportunities, connecting on 66.7 percent (12-of-18) of his shots
from the field and a perfect 100 percent (5-of-5) from the free
throw line, while averaging 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
