2012-13 Capital One Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Teams
PRINCETON, N.J. -- It is repeat performances for Brown senior guard Matthew Sullivan and Cornell senior forward Eitan Chemerinski earning recognition for a second-straight year on the Capital One Academic All-District® first team in District 1, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
As first-team Academic All-District® honorees, Sullivan and Chemerinski advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
Holding a 4.0 grade point average in economics, Sullivan (Wilmette, Ill.) has been an iron man for the Bears this year by averaging 38.4 minutes per game through 16 games. He is the Ivy League's third-leading scorer at 14.8 points per game and ranks seventh in school history with 145 career three-pointers.
Chemerinski (Potomac, Md.) is averaging 7.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks for the Big Red this season in 19 games, including 12 starts. He is Cornell's career leader in field goal percentage (.624), including an impressive .658 this season. Chemerinski earned his second-consecutive spot on the District 1 team with a 3.86 GPA in Applied Economics and Management.
