WORCESTER, Mass. – The Harvard men’s heavyweight crew reclaimed its place as the Ivy League’s top varsity eight boast while the Princeton lightweights captured their second-straight Ivy title at the 2010 Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.

Harvard spoiled Brown’s attempt to hang on to the Marc Bergschneider Ivy League Heavyweight Trophy for a third-straight year a solid time of 05:33.007 to win its first League crown since 2007. Princeton, as the fifth seed, made a surprise showing in the varsity eight grand final finishing second ahead of race favorite Brown. Click HERE for the complete release.

Princeton avenged a .7 second loss to Harvard in the Vogel & Goldthwait Cup Regatta with a commanding 2.2-second win over the Crimson in the lightweight grand final to retain the Michael W. Christian Ivy League Lightweight Trophy. With the help of a win in the second varsity eight final, the Tigers also won the Jope Cup for the team title. Click HERE for the complete release.
