WORCESTER, Mass. -- Harvard pulled off a Sprints sweep at the 66th annual Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) Sprints Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.
The Crimson heavyweight and lightweight crews captured their respective Ivy League titles and the EARC varsity and team championships, taking home lightweight and heavyweight varsity gold for the 13th time.
In the heavweight varsity eight grand final, Harvard crossed the
finish line in a time of 5:40.388, just over two seconds ahead of
Princeton (5:42.370). Wisconsin finished third just behind the
Tigers followed by Brown (5:43.597), Syracuse and Boston
The Crimson took the lightweight varsity eight grand final (5:45.358) in front of Dartmouth (5:46.848), Yale (5:46.959), Princeton (5:49.906), Cornell (5:51.612) and Navy (5:54.464).
Harvard won six grand finals on the day, including five of the six divisions that count toward the team competitions, adding first-place finishes in the heavyweight and lightweight second varsity eight, heavyweight freshman eight and heavyweight fourth varsity eight.
